Got back from london a few hours ago. It was a nice little trip, not a funfilled exciting adventure, we didn't really do that much, but it was good. The street photography exhibit at the tate was awesome, and Camden wasn't as bad as i expected. I bought some good stuff, ate some good food, explored some interesting places, blah blah blah. I didn't get much chance to draw or take photos, but it's not like i'll never be there again, I like it more than I did.

Today i went to the library & got out two amazing books

One of them is about Ladywell hospital which was closed & demolished about ten years ago, i think. It's a collection of stories from people who worked there and patients etc. Even some poems. Hoepfully it'll be amazing and inspirational. So will the book about dance bands, which has some awesome pictures.

Then i went charity shopping and got this amazing pack of cards for 50p, they were printed by Ilford in the 80's and have nice gold edges. The illustrations are pretty good & they hadn't even been unwrapped properly, so they're all new.. but old at the same time? Anyway they'll be good for when me & dan are waiting in the bus station to go to london on monday night.

I also got a nice dress which has SLEEVES. i don't have a dress with sleeves, so i'm pretty chuffed with that. I took pictures of buildings aswell and i was going to draw them but i watched mean girls and ate chocolate instead and now i have a headache.

arbitrary animals

I didn't have to work today because the shop was closed. some giant electrical fault apparently. it was a very strange feeling NOT to have anything to do. normally it's all "complain complain complain i wish i didn't have to work, i wish i had more time" but when now i really do have time, and no money to follow up any social plans, i don't have a clue what to do. so i watched the brady bunch movie, went to morrisons for lunch with my brother, found out that tom waits was in mystery men?! and acquired a GORGEOUS new cardigan from mama higgins' dusty and not worn in years collection. Then i made this little book to get my brain and hand going. pretty disastrous though. Freehand illustrated animals, picked randomly from my nature encyclopaedia along with interesting facts! should've used pencil but it doesn't matterrr.
i'm over my results angst & thursday night was g-o-o-d. i hope i don't have to work tomorrow either. but i also kind of hope i do because i need DINERO.

Hey! Whats your problem?

On monday I hung out with my best bud Dan, we organised & booked our trip to LONDON in two weeks time which I am very excited about and I plan to spend most of my time in the natural history museum. Will potentially have to do a Margot & Ritchie and camp out there because we haven't actually sorted where we're staying yet.
He also agreed to help out with my amazing17th birthday plans. Which mamma gave the go ahead for. We're going to turn my shed into a wonderful den to chill out in, open mic, silent films, beer served from the red car, bikes hanging from the rafters (well, one bike, and other stuff we found in the shed), fairy lights & rugs. It's going to be awesome.

Today was tiring, I was at work all day but got to catch up with dan, hina, rosa & josh on my lunch break which was l-o-v-e-l-y. Then i had a nap and watched a documentary on HUMBOLDT SQUIDS. Seriously good.

Most importantly though, I had a new idea for a zine, so if you too are interested in community, real people, their lives, their stories, their thoughts & feelings; want to hear more about the individual rather than current affairs, or what's "cool" or celebrity bullshit; and are keen to combine digital blogging & solid publications (albeit DIY) then email me at & i'll take you out for a cup of tea and we can chat.

it was my mums birthday today so we had a nice little party and i didn't have to go to work. cal made cake, papa made lasagne, & i made 4 pints of jelly and decorated the living room. We tried to make it as lovely as possible and she really enjoyed it. I felt very tired from all the effort though, but it was worth it. I've found that I rarely act selflessly.

Also, nanna & grandad brought round something very interesting which led to a few great discoveries about papa's past as steev higgins & higbo the bear & various different zine publications. Amazing

good day

today i caught up on some rest & some reading. then i made myself some lunch. i've been trying to experiment with cooking so that i'll be a master chef when i leave home next year. unfortunately my house is full of instant food and condiments. I managed to fry some mushrooms and tuna, added ginger and red wine vinegar, mixed that into some pasta & added philadelphia cheese and a healthy dose of pepper. it was taaastyyyy
Then i watched some tv & planned my mamma's birthday party.
I tried to paint some more but i really wasn't in the mood, i ended up planning to block out some areas in base colour, but basically just scribbled everywhere

the grey bit that looks like breasts will be an upside down mountain range, the green bits will be rolling hills with people and teepees and other worlds all over it, hopefully the beard will merge into those areas. above the otter is the makings of a peacock, which i will hopefully have the patience to make beautiful, the russian dolls are not finished, only vaguely outlined in pencil & slightly in paint. beardman's face is also not finished, i got booored

i may be fighting a losing battle

then i made a sexy sexy bag frmo a big scarf i got free because the £3 shop lady loves me.
i was too lazy to get good photos. it looks nice on.

once again i feel like eveyrone hates me. i'm not crying about it but i wish things were easier. i cant' wait to live in a house of my own, i will make lots of cushions and buy a kitten.
